Certificate in Teaching Yoga for Children

NB: This course is for CYQ Level 3 Yoga Teachers and graduates of Yoga Professionals only*.

Train to plan and teach yoga classes for children from toddlers to pre teens. This add on module builds from your original training to expand your skills to bring yoga to children.

Designed for qualified CYQ level 3 Certificate in Teaching Yoga qualified teachers who wish to deliver yoga classes to children between 3 - 11 years old. Our approach is child centred, educational and fun while supporting the development considerations within this age range.

Classes for 3-4 yrs, 5-7 yrs, and 8-11 years old all focus on developing confidence, imagination, concentration and self expression as well as health and well being. Through the use of games, storytelling, music and art the collective practice of asana, pranayama and dharana are introduced in an accessible and engaging way.

The Certificate in Teaching Yoga for Children is set up into 3 days:

Day 1 of the module will focus on building on your EFK L3 by introducing the differences from adult to child anatomy and physiology; contraindications for the practice of children's yoga and child development in relation to devising age appropriate classes are also delivered.

Day 2 will examine creative class planning, class structure, using music, storytelling and how to use these as a way to explore the asanas and basic yogic philosophy and values.

Day 3 will look at the use of guided relaxation, breathwork and ways to develop focus and concentration. Health and safety along with child protection, class control and special needs as well as guidance on setting up classes will be covered on this final day.

Course comes with manual, practical training and example (useable) lesson plans.
